It’s very easy to make your own Transparent Screen.
Its easy too just take one picture with a laptop’s screen closed and another one with the screen open, and then just paste the background on top of the screen in Photoshop.

I always wondered how that was done - neat!
This is interesting.

pretty sweet, never even thought of this, ever. should be pretty easy to do with minimal effort.
Hum, “just paste the background on top of the screen in Photoshop.”
and… what about icons?
You didn’t tell us how you got all the icons on the image. Ooooooh.
pretty cool trick !
With most of these pictures, it looks like they just took the background picture with it closed, and made it their wallpaper, then took another picture… no Photoshop needed. That’s just my 2 cents though.
The article is nonsense and David is almost right. Here’s how you really go about it:
1.) Take a picture of the laptop with the lid closed. (or of the PC with the screen out of the way)
2.) Open the laptop (or replace the screen) and take the exact same picture. Note: it helps to use a tripod or otherwise make sure the camera doesn’t move between shots.
3.) Get both of these pictures into a single Photoshop or GIMP (or other layered bitmap editor) document.
4.) Use the layer with the photograph that shows the screen to create a selection of the screen and just the screen.
5.) Switch to the layer with the photograph of no screen and stretch the contents of the selection you created to fill a rectangle the size of your screen’s desktop.
6.) Save the desktop-sized image, put it on the PC and set it as your background, Note: during all this, do not move the laptop or PC screen and leave the camera where it is!
7.) With the new image as a background, shoot the scene once more and you have the desired effect!
8.) Get creative and experiment with objects, lighting, people, etc.
So, you see it’s not as simple as “just paste in Photoshop”, but it is very easy to do if you know how.
These are all backgrounds on the PC, not Photoshop forgeries.
WTG Techinfo…
Bratwurst??????????? (On the image with the red Nescafe cup.)
Very interesting….Great trick….
@Fail
Dude, noone’s saying these are fake. Grismar just explained it perfectly. You have to use Photoshop to create the desktop background.
[…] Tutti gli altri si trovano qui. […]
To transfer the icons using the photoshop-faking-it technique, I suggest a plain background making it easy mask out the background or select the icons.
How the hell do you get cat to stay that still???
How make this?????
