Explosion at a firework disposal Dubai
At least 22 people have been killed in an explosion at a firework disposal site in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, officials said.
The incident took place at around 7.00 p.m. Wednesday, when authorities in Turpan city were destroying eight truckloads of fireworks in the Gobi desert, some seven kilometres from the Turpan tollgate of national highway 202.
The fire that has so far spared residential areas, has engulfed 20 other warehouses due to persistent winds, carrying black smoke kilometres away.
Officials said a fire triggered by the explosion was quickly put out. More than 100 firemen, rescuers and medics were involved.

Researchers at Toshiba in Japan have created a talking bot that can be used as a voice-activated universal remote in addition to formulating plots about terminating humans.
Our little robot will first observe your behavior and ask you questions in order to learn how to operate various remote controls.
When its sensors detect infrared rays emitted by a remote, the robot speaks up: “What did you just do?” it asks. Tell ApriPoko what you did (”I turned on the stereo” or “I changed to channel 321,” for example), and it commits the details to memory. Then, next time you want to turn on the stereo or change the channel, simply tell ApriPoko and it transmits the appropriate IR signal directly to the device.

While blog surfing today I found this nice article… Rainbow Bookshelf…
This bookshelf I’ve found today is really impressive. I found this beautiful example of organizing books by color and the smart guy that managed to do it. This is a very good way of changing the whole aspect of a bookshelf with a little bit of creativity. I guess you’ll have to pay more attention to the book’s cover from now on if you want to reproduce that effect and have your own rainbow bookshelf.
